Martin Hoy – Director

Martin has over 15 years experience as a leading highways and transportation consultant with his career spanning both Government and private practice employment.

From a successful career delivering multi-million pound highway schemes within the Northern Ireland Government, Martin progressed to private practice with a multi-disciplinary international design and engineering consultancy PLC and was responsible for nearly £1 billion of highway schemes at various stages of development within the UK.

Martin has extensive experience of major highways and transportation planning; Government delivery process; civil engineering design; national and international funding; and delivery through PPP and DBFO procurement from inception to Completion Certificate.  He has lead some of the most prestigious highway and transportation schemes in the UK and Ireland from initial advice, identifying the need, design concept, inception reporting and design, land planning, feasibility, preliminary and detailed highway design and delivery on site of multi-million pound DBFO/PPP schemes in Ireland and the UK.

Karl Dorman – Director

Karl has over 10 years experience planning, leading and managing project teams pertaining to the assessment, design and procurement of general civil engineering schemes.

After gaining invaluable international experience working for a large civil engineering contractor in New York, he returned to Northern Ireland to work for local government in the procurement, design and supervision of major roads schemes.  He then moved into private practice, working for a multi-disciplinary international design and engineering consultancy.  He was responsible for the building a highly skilled roads design team and the delivery of major highways and transportation projects in the UK.

He has operated many forms of contract including both D&B and PPP contracts.  His skills in strategy development and business planning have been honed through participation in bid management and organisational change.  Through a carefully considered, pragmatic approach he delivers reasoned and well informed output.  An experienced team player and effective communicator, he works well with all disciplines.  He is a committee member of Engineers Ireland (Northern Region) and has an active involvement in promoting civil engineering throughout Northern Ireland.
