Hoy & Dorman provides expert witness services to those involved in the process of construction and engineering litigation or arbitration.

These disputes usually concern time and/or cost overruns, and our senior professionals are frequently involved in quantum analysis and complex cause and effect delay and disruption analysis. We also provide a broad range of specialist technical knowledge.  We are able to access, manage and interpret extensive records.

We can serve as both advisor and expert witness and also assist our clients in many ways, including:

• Undertaking of thorough examinations of all relevant documentation
• Identification of strengths and weaknesses of the client’s position and that of the opposing party
• Preparation and submission of preliminary reports for use during initial negotiations
• Assistance in the disclosure and assessment of the opposing party’s documents
• Liaison with the opposing side’s expert in order to identify areas of agreement
• Preparation and submission of a final report to the court or tribunal, providing a detailed basis for examination in the proceedings
• Acting as party or court-appointed expert witness to give expert testimony and to be cross-examined
• Acting as the client’s expert advisor on technical matters, including potential strategies, working closely with the client’s legal team
